Archiving Imagery Workgroup
This workgroup was officially sunsetted 12/14/22.
The mission of the Archiving Imagery Workgroup of the Minnesota Geospatial Advisory Council was to investigate best practices for archiving imagery data and continue to build on the work of the Archiving Pilot Workgroup, the Archiving Implementation Workgroup and the Archiving Workgroup.
Historical Geospatial Data Survey

Policies and guidelines for an open access archive of Minnesota geospatial data - February 2019
- Public Geospatial Data Archive Survey Report
A 10-question survey was intended to capture the relevant topics of interest toward data archiving methods, prioritization of archival dataset pilot projects, and related data archiving concerns such as retention policies, licenses and data use agreements, etc. The survey was publicized widely with the GIS community for feedback and guidance, and is helping to shape the scope of the Archiving Workgroup agendas and deliverables. The survey closed December 21, 2018.
