Heather Albrecht
Heather has worked in the GIS field for greater than 15 years and has a knack for translating technical jargon into plain English. As a Business Analyst at Hennepin GIS she combines her practical approach with years of technical experience to develop GIS solutions that enhance business processes across the County.
During her years in the industry, Heather has been very involved in the GIS Community. She has volunteered many years with the MN GIS/LIS Consortium planning the conference, serving on the board, and presenting workshops and sessions. Heather is also active in the Institute of Asset Management and Climate Reality Leadership Project. She is serving her second term on the Minnesota Geospatial Advisory Council and has been newly elected as Council Chair.
Heather graduated from St. Cloud State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in GIS. While attending SCSU, she studied rainforest ecology abroad at the School for Field Studies, Yungaburra Australia. She has a Certificate in Project Management from the University of Minnesota College of Continuing & Professional Studies.
