Christy Christensen
Christy Christensen has worked as the GIS Director for McLeod County for 33 years. He is currently the President of MCGISA, Minnesota County GIS Association, and was involved with it's creation in 2007. The MCGISA mission is to advance GIS technology in Minnesota county governments by providing professional leadership and support. The Association goals include fostering awareness, collaboration and coordination among county, regional, state and federal officials; cultivate leadership and professional development through workshops, seminars, and meetings; and to provide a forum to share knowledge, information and experience among members.
Christy managed the McLeod County remonumentation project to establish 100% of the section corners, followed with the mapping of parcels, plats and other land records. Other areas of involvement include 911 addressing, county ditch mapping, public works asset management and issue tracking, open source public mapping solutions, and a variety of other GIS projects supporting many of the county departments and cities.
