Alex Steele
As the first GIS professional for the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (MCWD), Alex is building the district's GIS from the ground-up in order to leverage spatial data at an enterprise level. He coordinates all facets of MCWD's GIS, including managing the district's GIS database, developing useful maps and apps, and analyzing data to better understand water quality and quantity issues across the district.
Alex graduated from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography. He has over 7 years of professional GIS experience in various county and city government roles across the country, in addition to private sector environmental compliance and remediation experience.
