Minnesota Aerial Photography: 2008
NAIP digital aerial photography was acquired for the state of Minnesota from
May 2008 until September 2008. The imagery was orthorectified using ground
control (absolute accuracy) unlike Minnesota's 2003 NAIP imagery which used
previously flown air photos. The Minnesota Department of Transportation
supervised ground control target placement and over 500 targets were installed
and surveyed prior to collecting the imagery. Testing of the imagery indicates
that horizontal accuracy has improved significantly as compared to the accuracy
of the 2003 NAIP imagery (see link below).
