Section 1 Overview
Originator Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and Surdex Corporation
Title DNR East-Central and Southeast Minnesota, Fall Color Infrared Imagery, 2011
Abstract This dataset contains 4 Band (RGBI) digital orthophoto imagery in two regions of Minnesota: Aitkin, Anoka, Benton, Carlton, Chisago, Kanabec, Mille Lacs, Pine, Sherburne, and the northern portion of Washington counties in East-Central Minnesota, and Fillmore, Goodhue, Houston, Olmsted, Wabasha, and Winona counties in Southeast Minnesota.

The orthophotos are 0.5-meter ground sample distance (GSD) and are in UTM Zone 15, NAD83 (meters). The tiling format of the imagery is based on a 3.75' x 3.75' quarter quadrangle with a 150 meter buffer on all four sides.

This metadata record was created by MnGeo using information supplied by DNR and Surdex Corporation.
Purpose The orthophotos are used by Minnesota DNR for forest management.

Section 2 Data Quality
Attribute Accuracy N/A
Logical Consistency N/A
Completeness Imagery is available for all of the 16 counties except for the southern half of Washington Co.
Horizontal Positional Accuracy The orthophotos were tested using 65 observation points. The circular error at 95% accuracy was 1.909, exceeding the threshold of 2.096 for the NSSDA (National Standard for Spatial Data Accuracy). For full details, see the accuracy report at: www.mngeo.state.mn.us/chouse/airphoto/MN_DNR_Fall2011_Orthophoto_Accuracy_Report.pdf
Vertical Positional Accuracy None - this is a horizontal only product.
Lineage All imagery was collected by Surdex Corporation with a DMC digital frame camera from an altitude of approximately 15,000 AGL. All imagery was processed by Surdex using the camera manufacturer's software. The original dataset includes 1028 digital orthophoto quarter quadrangles (DOQQs) in GeoTiff format with an associated world file.
